Fostering Service Manager

Having local foster families is the key to making sure we keep our Plymouth Children connected to their local community. We need more Local Authority carers and part of my role is to encourage and promote Plymouth as the foster carer destination of choice. We are not able to financially compete with Independent Fostering Agencies but we do provide excellent and well-received trauma-informed and relational support to all our carers.

I am absolutely committed to ensuring there are compassionate and caring Plymouth foster families for the Plymouth children who need them. Every child should be given the chance to fulfil their potential and experience a safe, nurturing home – by becoming a foster carer you and your family can ensure they have that when they need it most. By visiting this website and reading this you are taking the first step towards doing something amazing – thank you.

Fostering Team Manager

Fostering a child is an incredibly rewarding journey, complete with highs, lows and everything in between. To think you can give a child the opportunities and experiences of life that you or I can take for granted. I am fully committed and extremely passionate about our recruitment of foster carers and if you are considering fostering please get in touch and help change the lives of some of our most vulnerable but most amazing children in care.

Fostering to me is for children to have an opportunity to experience nurturing safe care as they process their experiences. This is why I am passionate about ensuring there are good quality foster families that have the same genuine care and compassion in believing this is about the children having chances to laugh, play and feel cared for. I believe this is what every child is entitled to and should have.

Recruiting and assessing new prospective carers gives me the drive and motivation to know that I am recruiting more carers for our vulnerable children whom sadly more and more children are coming into care significantly and therefore the recruitment of carers is fundamental to children’s lives. I also enjoy taking applicants through a journey, the lives of others are interesting and the exploration of finding new carers for our children is exciting!
